Finding the right job after graduation can be difficult.
Get a step ahead of your competition and become crystal clear about what it is you want to do for the rest of your life.
3 Steps that will help you get started
1. Become aware of your core values and your passion
Before you can create the life of your dreams, a life that is truly fulfilling in every way, you need to know what your core values are. What matters most and what can you happily live without?
One of the biggest causes of frustration, stress and a sense of depression is living a life that is inconsistent with our values.
Ask yourself the question: What matters most to me in life?
Think about times you felt very proud about what you did and figure out what exactly is it that you were so proud of.
Think about some of the happiest times in your life. What was it that made you so happy?
What does the word “success” mean to YOU. Forget about what other people think for a moment. Think about your life (nobody is watching).
2. Write a personal vision statement for your life
If you don’t have a clear picture of what you want your future to look like, it’s very likely that you will waste a lot of time and energy on detours and things that don’t really bring you any closer to your end goal – your vision. Don’t get distracted by shiny short-term wins but focus on what it is you really want to create in this life.
Writing a personal vision statement for your life is about working out what you really want – and understanding what you are willing to do to get it.
Start by asking yourself what you would do if somebody gave you 1 million dollars and you had to spend it on something other than yourself. What would you do with it?
What do you want to create, give, be, feel, or share?
What are the challenges you are excited to overcome?

3. Set goals and take action
Think about where you want to be in 3 to 5 years from now?
And then set yourself three goals that will serve as milestones to get there.
You don’t have to do everything at the same time. Tick your goals off one after the other and make sure those goals are aligned with your ultimate vision, your end game.
Use the following format to write down your goals:
1. What is the outcome you want to achieve:
Make it specific, measurable and add a deadline
2. Purpose:
Why do you want to achieve this?
3. My action plan:
What do you need to do to reach this goal in the time frame you set yourself?
Make a list of actions that will help you achieve this goal.
When you are done, rate the importance of your goals on a scale of 1 to 10. Are they all equally important? Is one goal more urgent than the other? Do you need one goal as a stepping stone for the next?
Track the progress of your goals on a monthly basis.
Commit to your plan and start acting!
